Wei-Chung Chiou

Wei-Chung obtained Master of Science in Biophysics, Biochemistry and Biotechnology at KU Leuven and Bachelor of Science in Earth and Life Sciences at the University of Taipei. He currently works as a research assistant in the lab of Prof. Cheng Huang in the Department of Biotechnology and Laboratory Science in Medicine, National Yang-Ming University. Following the area of research of this lab, he engages in the development of herbal medicines for metabolic syndrome and infectious diseases and mainly investigates natural compounds in vitro. He was involved in a study on the potential of a natural compound for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease management, which findings were published in Pharmacological Research in 2020.
